The newest Carlsbad Art Wall, and the 3rd one for 2020, emerged on Saturday July 25th in Carlsbad Village.
“We All Need Love” was created by LA graffiti artist King Cre8 in his signature style. The artist, who is based in South Central LA, has 40 years of experience as a graffiti artist. Check out his Instagram site.
If you live nearby or have visited Carlsbad, you no doubt have driven by the wall when heading to the beach on Carlsbad Village Drive . Even if you don’t know the official #CarlsbadArtWall name you probably have noticed changing murals on the east-facing wall of Senor Grubby’s on Carlsbad Village Drive, just west of the train tracks and easily seen driving west.
Bryan Snyder, a well-known Carlsbad artist with plenty of public art of his own, founded the Carlsbad Art Wall (CAW) in 2015, with the cooperation of the owner of Senor Grubby’s in Carlsbad Village, a popular Mexican restaurant.
The Carlsbad Art Wall allows residents and visitors to enjoy beautiful and temporary public art by local, regional (often Los Angeles) and international muralists (recently from New Zealand), with multiple new murals each year. And it’s great exposure for the artists, too!
Carlsbad’s reputation as an arts community continues to grow and change, with abundant public art (an interactive map) in the Village and elsewhere. The Carlsbad Art Wall is a wonderful part of our expanding and ever-changing arts community!
People often come to watch the wall murals emerge before their eyes, and from my reading on-line this one was no exception.
Here are a few recent Carlsbad Art Wall murals to enjoy:
Carlsbad Art Wall February 2020
Carlsbad Art Wall October 2019
The #CarlsbadArtWall is a fun and very visible opportunity for talented wall artists to share their creativity and messages for the public to enjoy for a few months; each creation is a special, although temporary, addition to our Village by the Sea!
