As many Carlsbad residents know, the Carlsbad Art Wall (CAW) has been around since 2015, the brainchild of Carlsbad artist, Bryan Snyder, in cooperation with the owner of the popular Mexican restaurant, Senor Grubby’s, on Carlsbad Village Drive.
Several times a year a new wall mural is painted, featuring local, regional and even international muralists, easily viewed as you head toward Carlsbad Boulevard on Carlsbad Village Drive.
The first mural of 2020 was painted this past weekend by Skechy_Art (check out his Instagram page) on Saturday and Sunday, and it’s a beauty. I stopped by yesterday when I was in the Village running some errands.
Carlsbad has a growing reputation as an arts community, with a wide range of public art (check out this interactive map on the City of Carlsbad website), galleries, arts and crafts fairs, theater and musical performances, and the changing Carlsbad Art Wall is a wonderful addition.
