Holiday Events in Carlsbad

The 2022 holiday season is under way in Carlsbad with events over the next few weeks, including Holiday at the Rancho.

You can #ShopSmall at Small Business Saturday on November 26th in Carlsbad Village. What a great opportunity to work on your holiday shopping and support our local merchants.

Next it’s the Holiday Showcase Makers Market on December 3rd. Here’s another shopping opportunity with tons of art work and crafts from juried vendors.

And Holiday at the Rancho takes place at Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park (personal visit article), also on December 3rd.

Holiday at the Rancho Details

The 2022 Holiday at the Rancho in Carlsbad offers holiday festivities with a bit of western history. The event runs from 5 to 8 pm.

Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park is located at 6200 Flying LC Lane off Melrose in the Rancho Carrillo area of Carlsbad. The park is approximately 1 mile south of Palomar Airport Road, a short distance past Poinsettia Avenue at the next light (west side of Melrose).

You’ll find lots of holiday decorations and beautiful lights, of course. Furthermore, this popular holiday event offers fun for all: face painting, holiday cookie decorating, holiday-themed crafts, gift shopping, entertainment, and a “plush” snowball fight. The holiday tree lighting ceremony with Santa takes place on the sand by the pool at 5:45 pm.

Photo opportunities will follow and you can buy souvenir photos. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, too.

Everyone will enjoy the outdoor holiday movie on the big screen, “Home Alone” (1990 rated PG), beginning at 6 pm.

The Leo Carrillo Ranch Historical Park will be festively decorated that surely will put you in the holiday spirit!

Admission for Holiday at the Rancho is $10.00 per person. Children 3 and under get in free but must be noted when you buy tickets. You can purchase your tickets online until 5 pm on December 2nd or at the event. Please call (442) 339-2519 for more information.

Parking is somewhat limited at The Leo Carrillo Historic Ranch Park, and this is a popular event. You can also park on adjacent neighborhood streets, or at Carrillo Elementary School on Poinsettia Lane adjacent to the Park. There is access to the Park from the school grounds.
