The 4th Annual Makers Market Crafter’s Showcase, sponsored by the Carlsbad Village Association, takes place in Carlsbad Village Saturday, December 5th, from 9 am until 4 pm.
This Covid-safe, outdoor Crafter’s Showcase will be held at St. Michael’s By-the-Sea Episcopal Church. This event is FREE to attend, but don’t forget credit cards and cash for gift buying! There is plenty of room for social distancing, and fewer booths than in the past.
All health guidelines and protocols will be followed and enforced for all (staff, the public, vendors, volunteers), including wearing masks and observing appropriate social distancing. A hand washing station will be available, as well as hand sanitizing stations. You can read more on the CVA website about the procedures to keep everyone safe (as they are using at the weekly Farmers’ Market and have for many months)!
In case you don’t get your shopping started, or completed, at Small Business Saturday on November 28th, this open air market will offer the opportunity for more holiday shopping with self-designed and handcrafted items from 40 local and regional artisans.
These are juried-only participants at this event so you can expect the quality and creativity will be pretty special.
As with other arts and crafts events, you’ll likely find a wide range of hand-crafted items – beading, natural jewelry, leatherwork, 3D functional art, fabric creations, re-purposed materials, glass and so much more. Keep in mind these are not factory-production items but are all hand-made, so you can expect some unique crafts.
And you’ll be able to talk with the creators, too and learn more about what they do and what inspires them!
There will be live music, and you can expect some food discounts at some of the local eateries. And if you don’t find the perfect gifts at the Makers Market Crafter’s Showcase, or even if you do, there are plenty of retailers in the Village nearby to consider for your holiday shopping.
