Happy Summer!
In case you forgot, today is the first day of summer.
And it’s also the start of the annual TGIF Concerts in the Parks for 9 consecutive summer evenings in one of Carlsbad beautiful parks. No doubt most Carlsbadians know about the concerts and are aware the time is here, but in case not, no worries…here’s what you need to know.
The concerts are free – what a tremendous and fun opportunity to enjoy a summer evening with good live music, outdoor wine-ing and dining, and a relaxing beginning to the weekend.
Tonight’s concert features Safety Orange (surf rock).
Here’s the full schedule for the 2019 TGIF Concerts in the Parks.
The concert will start about 6 pm, with the venue opening for seating at 4 pm (get there early to secure a spot up front if you like) and runs until 8 pm with intermission at 7.
In addition to your food, beverages, and low-back seating and blankets, bring some money so you can purchase raffle tickets from the Carlsbad Friends of the Arts. There are always some terrific prizes that are raffled off at intermission. And the funds go to support multiple programs each year in Carlsbad.
If you haven’t been expect some pretty good crowds, so you may have to park a distance in the adjacent neighborhoods and walk. But it’s good exercise, right? And you can also take advantage of parking for the FREE shuttles – watch for signage at the venue. Shuttles run from 4:30 – 9 pm.
