I suspect that most of the residents in Carlsbad know about the TGIF Concerts in the Parks, and for many Carlsbadians these are a highlight of our wonderful summers. The concerts take place on 9 consecutive Friday evenings, from 6 – 8 pm (approximately) with an intermission at 7 pm where they raffle off great prizes; funds benefit the various art programs in Carlsbad.
In case you aren’t aware, the TGIF Concerts start Friday, June 21, the first day of Summer.
What can be better than great live music for FREE, a beautiful park, and a summer evening?! And, not surprisingly, the TGIF Concerts in the Parks are popular with visitors and residents, and you can expect a couple thousand people dining al fresco, a sea of blankets and low-back chairs, lots of kids, plenty of dancing, and terrific live music in a wide range of styles.

The TGIF concerts get crowded so I recommend arriving early (venues open at 4) to find the best parking in the local neighborhoods and get great seats up front. Unless you are real early you can expect to walk a distance from your parking spot, in my experience.
You’ll find signage for the shuttles when you arrive at the park. Shuttles run from 4:30 until 9 pm.
