The 1st Carlsbad Art Wall mural for 2024 was completed this past weekend. It’s different from the other murals we’ve seen over the years, but for a special reason.
The latest Carlsbad Art Wall mural is a celebration of, the Valley Middle School Visual and Performing Arts Program (VAPA). And it was a dedication to all the teachers and students who make it so special.
The mural was created during the Meet and Greet event held on Saturday January 27th.
This is the 39th mural since the beginning of the Carlsbad Art Wall.
The art wall was created in 2015 by Carlsbad artist, Bryan Snyder. It was founded with the cooperation with the owner of Senor Grubby’s Mexican Restaurant in Carlsbad Village
The Carlsbad Art Wall gives residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy temporary public art by local, regional, and sometimes international artists.
Bryan Snyder founded the Carlsbad Alley Art Wall as well, along with multiple art projects in Carlsbad. He’s also an art teacher at the Valley Middle School.
While you may not have heard the actual name, you’ve likely seen the murals at Senor Grubby’s Mexican Restaurant’s east-facing wall if you live here or have visited Carlsbad Village.
The Wall is just past the train tracks, opposite the Carlsbad Village Faire Shopping Center, as you head to the beach. It’s easy to see!
Carlsbad’s reputation as an arts community is growing. There is abundant public art (interactive map on the City of Carlsbad website) throughout the town. Plus you’ll find multiple art galleries, a performance theater, multiple arts and crafts fairs, and live music events during the year. The Carlsbad Art Wall is a special part of our vibrant arts community!
Here’s the most recent Carlsbad Art Wall from November 2023.
