Carlsbad Art Wall August 2023

Art in Carlsbad

The 4th Carlsbad Art Wall mural of 2023 was just finished last week. Moreover this is the 37th mural since the Carlsbad Art Wall was founded.

The wall was painted by Anna Pearson, who originally hails from the Ukraine. Plus she takes us on a special journey under the sea.

The Carlsbad Art Wall was founded in 2015 by Carlsbad artist, Bryan Snyder. This is in cooperation with the owner of Senor Grubby’s Mexican Restaurant in Carlsbad Village

As a result The Wall affords residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy temporary public art by local, regional, and even international artists.

Furthermore, Bryan Snyder also founded the Carlsbad Alley Art Wall, among other art projects in Carlsbad.

The public can watch artists at work on their creations, which are often painted over a 2-day period, often on the weekend.

While you may not have heard the official name, if you live in the area or have visited Carlsbad Village you’ve probably noticed changing murals at Senor Grubby’s east-facing wall.

The Carlsbad Art Wall (#CAW) is easy to spot. It’s just west of the train tracks, across the street from the Carlsbad Village Faire as you head to the beach.

Carlsbad’s reputation as an arts community continues to expand with abundant public art.  (Link is to an interactive map on the City of Carlsbad website). There are multiple art galleries, a performance theater, several arts and crafts fairs, and live music events throughout the year. It goes without saying that the Carlsbad Art Wall is a special part of Carlsbad’s vibrant arts community!
