Wavecrest Woodie Meet is 9/22 at Moonlight Beach

2023 Carlsbad Oktoberfest

The world’s largest and longest running Woodie meet takes place this Saturday, September 22 (the LAST day of summer!!).

This is the 39th Annual Wavecrest Woodie Meet and it’s sure to be lots of fun, with around 300 Woodies expected in the parking lot above Moonlight Beach. I went a few years ago and it was amazing to see all these beautiful cars in one place.

You can expect lots of fun, besides getting to gawk at all the Woodies and talk to their owners…live Hawaiian and surfing music, plenty of food, lots of story telling, surfing and just hanging out at one of the best SoCal beaches around. And no doubt there will be Woodie memorabilia and Wavecrest merchandise to buy, too!

The fun starts Thursday evening (the last night of the Encinitas Classic Cars Nights series in downtown Encinitas from 5:30 – 7:30), with more to do on Friday (check out the San Diego Woodies website – they were founded in 2001 as a Chapter of the National Woodie Club).

But the main event with all the Woodies is on SATURDAY from 8 am until 3 pm. No doubt some folks will be hanging around after that to enjoy the sunset and more fun at Moonlight Beach!
