Old Carlsbad Fire Station 3

The Carlsbad Fire Station #3 is in a better position to provide improved service to Carlsbad residents in nearby neighborhoods as well as to emergencies on the 78 and 5 freeways, plus close by open space in the event of brush fires. The new first station can also handle the modern fire equipment better than the old station.

Carlsbad Fire Station #3 is a 10,400 SF facility costing about $6.1 million, and designed to meet the LEED Silver certification standards. The building includes dormitories, office space, separate lockers and showers for men and women, a kitchen, dining room, and space for storing equipment. There are 3 vehicle bays for housing a fire engine, ambulance and other emergency vehicles. The space was designed to be flexible as storage needs change for storing fire and emergency equipment.

The new Carlsbad Fire Station #3 was officially open for business on March 3 and held an open house on Saturday and Sunday March 6 and 7 for Carlsbad residents to tour the new facility.
