Some Lessons Learned from Buying and Refinancing

Real Estate Terminology

I’ve been in the real estate business since 2002, for 3 years in Boston and then since 2005 here in Carlsbad, and have worked with many buyers and sellers, and a good number of relocations to my area from out of the area or out of state. I’ve learned a few important things about buying and selling as my wife and I have bought and sold 10 primary homes over the years, along with 2 vacation homes and a business condo.

A key thing I’ve learned is that buying and selling can be a very emotional process, sometimes surprisingly so. And when you least expect it those emotions can pop up and interfere with what you need to do, or impact your judgment and thinking, or jus make you feel stressed out. It’s normal, but not always pleasant.

I liken the process of buying of selling to flying – you know there is likely to be some turbulence, you just don’t know when it will happen or how long it will last. Just know that when we work together I will be there with you all the way to help you cope with the turbulence, and the emotions during your purchase or sale, or both!

I’ve also learned how important it is to verify information, and to ask a lot of questions – there are some very good reasons for this.
