San Diego Restaurant Week 2020 Begins January 19

Carlsbad food

It’s time again for the very popular San Diego Restaurant Week where you can enjoy dining at special prices at over 180 popular, and some not so well known, restaurants all around San Diego – downtown, inland and along the coast up to Oceanside.

San Diego Restaurant Week 2020 will begin Sunday January 19th and run through Sunday January 26th, giving you lots of opportunity to take advantage of some great deals for lunch (prices from $10 to $25 for 2 courses) and dinner (priced from $20 to $60 for 3 courses). Brunch is often not included. Why not dine out multiple times?!

This year restaurants can offer 2 or 3 items for a special price – say wine, entree and dessert – instead of 3 courses so there may be more opportunities to experience the restaurant’s menu offerings. You might find drinks and appetizers included, too, not just main courses.

Carlsbad has several restaurants participating, including Cicciotti’s Italiana and Seafood in Carlsbad Village, 7 Mile Kitchen at the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort, and the Argyle Steakhouse at the Aviara Golf Club with great views of the golf course and the Batiquitos Lagoon (dining outside is a real treat in nice weather).

There are no tickets or passes to buy, and reservations are not required but certainly advisable, given how popular this event is. And dining on the weekend is easiest with a reservation.

Some restaurants allow you to make reservations directly from the San Diego Restaurant Week website…and some may participate in Open Table (where you can earn points for each dining reservation from participating restaurants). You can also call the restaurants directly to reserve your spot or make an online reservation from their website.

Keep in mind that restaurants who are participating will also have their regular menus, too, so you to not have to just order one of the specials for the week.

Check out the San Diego Restaurant Week website for recipes, too. Some restaurants are sharing recipes of some of their offerings.
