This will certainly be a different July 4th holiday in many ways.
Of course the meaning of the holiday hasn’t changed and we will still celebrated this day of Independence in our history…and celebrate all our heroes.
But because of the pandemic many fireworks celebrations are being canceled, and the few that are happening do not allow gatherings.
The Big Bay Boom has taken place in San Diego for years. In 2020 there will be no live Big Bay Boom.
However, Fox 5 will telecast a 1-hour celebration of prior Big Bay Boom fireworks events beginning at 8:30 PM in the Big Bay Boom: Salute to Heroes Special.
Here’s a list of some of the fireworks programs around San Diego – note that many of the area’s traditions, like Red, White & BOOM at Legoland in Carlsbad are, sadly, canceled.
