Red, White and BOOM in Carlsbad

Things to do in Carlsbad

The July 4th holiday is here, which means the return of Red, White and BOOM in Carlsbad, and other events.

You can expect celebrations and fireworks in and around Carlsbad, and plenty of private festivities, cookouts, and picnics. And of course beach time! Expect the beaches to be crowded all weekend and parking to be a challenge!

The crowds have picked up now that it’s summer. The restaurants are busy, and public parking at the beaches, and in Carlsbad Village, is harder to find, especially over the weekend.

Carlsbad Fireworks

Red, White and BOOM at Legoland

Why not come dressed for the holiday in red, white and blue? The Legoland fireworks can be seen for miles. They are popular everyone at Legoland, but area residents as well, with lots of vantage points (watch for No Parking signage on certain roads).

The Red, White and BOOM celebration begins at 10 am and runs until 9 pm. Fireworks are around 8:30. All festivities for Red, White and BOOM are included in the admission!

Park Hyatt Hotel Aviara Celebration

Another favorite event for the 4th of July holiday is the annual celebration at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Aviara. The festivities include live entertainment, hotel offerings (e.g., movies), and dining on a special BBQ dinner, followed by spectacular fireworks. You can read more about this special event and tickets here. The celebration runs from 5 to 8:30, with the fireworks display at 9 pm.

Here’s a list of some other popular July 4th events in the San Diego area.

Be aware that some events do not take place on the actual 4th holiday, including fireworks. But there’s plenty to do for this popular holiday weekend in Carlsbad, and around San Diego County, for 2022!

HAPPY 4th of JULY!
