Public Safety Open House in Carlsbad Oct. 14

Carlsbad will be hosting a Public Safety Open House in a little over a week, on Saturday, October 14 from 10 am until 2 pm.

This annual event will be held at the Carlsbad Safety Training Center at 5750 Orion Street, off Faraday just east of El Camino Real.

This public safety open house is a wonderful way for Carlsbad residents to learn more about the Safety Training Center itself and the many important services that are provided to our community – fire, police, first responders, emergency preparedness, and so much more. I think many residents are probably not well aware of all that the City provides in terms of prevention and response.

Visitors will be able to watch live demonstrations including a SWAT mission, sidewalk CPR, K9 maneuvers, and a burn demo.

The open house will also feature displays relating to fire safety, police and public works vehicles;  general prevention and preparedness;  emergency services and CSI equipment and technology; trauma intervention; and volunteerism in the City of Carlsbad.

The Carlsbad Public Safety Open House also celebrates Fire Prevention Week and Crime Prevention Month.

If you need more information or have any questions you may you can contact Jodee Sasway, the Public Information Officer, at (760) 931-2105.

I attended one in the past and it was lots of fun and a great learning experience. We have a pretty impressive community!!
