You might think this is a typo, but it’s not!
Carlsbad’s popular annual Oktoberfest will be a modified event in 2021, in celebration of Carlsbad’s local restaurants for the entire month.
Carlsbad’s Oktoberfest has traditionally taken place on the 1st Saturday in October.
As in the past, Oktober-Feast will be sponsored by Carlsbad’s 2 rotary clubs – the Rotary Club of Carlsbad, and the Carlsbad Hi-Noon Rotary Club (here are the other sponsors). This is the 39th year!
The Oktober-Feast will include a kick-off event at the Carlsbad Strawberry Company on October 2nd, from 12 Noon until 8:00 PM, and a month-long feast at local restaurants. The event serves as a major fundraiser for the Carlsbad Rotary Clubs; in 2020 they raised almost $60,000 for local charities.
Here are details for the October 2nd Kick-Off event:
Tip Top Meats in Carlsbad will provide the traditional German meal. There will be music with a DJ, sandwiches and hotdogs, and a Beer Garden (with domestic and craft beers, and wine). Activities for the kids include apple cannons, bounce land, laser tag, and a corn maze; tickets for these activities will be available separately at the Pumpkin Patch stand.
The Kick-Off Event will take place at the Pumpkin Patch at the Carlsbad Strawberry Company…the Pumpkin Patch is always a hit at Halloween time. The Strawberry Company and Pumpkin Patch are at 1050 Cannon Road, just east of the I-5 freeway.
Tickets will be purchased at the entrance, not online in advance. Admission to the kick-off event is $5 per person, with $16 for the meal, $9 for a Bratwurst Sausage sandwich, and the Kid’s Hotdog is $5.
