The Carlsbad Art Wall has been a part of the Carlsbad Village art scene for 4 years now, starting in the spring of 2015.
The brain child of Carlsbad artist Bryan Snyder, the Carlsbad Art Wall (a.k.a. CAW) is located on the east facing wall of the popular Mexican restaurant, Senor Grubby’s, in collaboration with the owner! We owe them a big thank you for sharing this public art with us…the mural changes every 2 – 3 months, featuring local artists and muralists from Los Angeles.
The current installation is by San Diego-based artist, muralist and photographer CARLY EALEY and is titled “On the Rise but Still Adrift.” The mural was painted during a recent heat wave, the weekend of August 11th and 12th.
It’s quite a stunning mural and I understand that most of it was painted using spray cans. Pretty impressive.
