New Carlsbad Art Wall Mural THIS WEEKEND!

Carlsbad continues to grow in reputation as a community that embraces the arts, in many ways.

Residents, and visitors, have many opportunities to enjoy all the public art (did you know there is an interactive map of public art in Carlsbad?) which includes wall mural, fire hydrants, electrical boxes, statues and more, as well as several arts and crafts fairs (the next one coming up, the Carlsbad Village Faire, is on May 6, and again in November, and the Art in the Village Fair).

Residents also love the annual free series of music concerts (9 of them) in the Carlsbad Parks in the summer on Friday nights, and an annual tradition for many years. Check out the TGIF Concerts in the Parks THIS summer 2018 if you haven’t ever been.

There are independent art galleries, the New Village Arts Theatre in Carlsbad Village, the well-known and popular city-owned Cannon Art Gallery with regular exhibitions and family open studios.

The Carlsbad Museum of Making Music, along with multiple concerts and events at the museum year-round is also very popular and well worth a visit.

And then we have the ever-changing CARLSBAD ART WALL, the brainchild of Carlsbad artist Bryan Snyder, on the east wall of Senor Grubby’s in the Village. The wall is repainted every few months by a new wall artist, and the next installation by SARAH SPINKS will be this Friday Jan. 19 and Sat. Jan. 20 where you can watch the artist at work.

Here’s the most recent wall mural, in case you missed it, and how the wall looked a few days ago in preparation for the new install.
