How I Help Buyer and Seller Referrals

What You Should Know About Housing Prices

Buyer and Seller Referrals are an important part of my real estate business.

Certainly, a highly valued source of business is a buyer or seller in my service area that’s referred to me by a client. I always appreciate that level of trust from a past relationship, and it’s happened multiple times. Sometimes the referral is a friend, or it might be a neighbor or business colleague. Regardless, anyone referred to me is handled to the best of my ability with respect, trust and service.

If you have someone to refer all you have to do is pass along my contact information to that person. Or if you prefer, get in touch with me and share your referral’s contact information. Then I’ll take it from there. Either way I will keep you informed as to the status of your referral.

Some referral business comes from other agents who have a buyer relocating here, or a seller in my service area. Many of these come through the national Residential Real Estate Council (RRC, previously known as the Council of Residential Specialists or CRS). RRC offers the coveted Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) Designation.

I completed my CRS Designation back in late 2005 a few months after relocating here from Boston. The CRS Designation is based on extensive education and rigorous production requirements. The CRS is a highly regarded designation in the real estate profession, and referred to as the PhD of real estate.

I have served in a number of leadership positions in the California RRC over the years (including President of the Southern California Chapter of CRS in 2011), as well as having several national committee positions. I also served as the Regional Vice President for the New England Region for 3 years. As a result of these roles, I have gotten to personally know many well-qualified Realtors around the country. I’ve also met many Realtors from attending multiple national real estate conventions.

This has not only been a good source of referral business to me, but I also refer out when there is a need elsewhere in CA and around the country. I recently referred a seller, whose home I sold, to an agent in SC who helped them buy their new home.

HOW I CAN HELP YOUR REFERRALS

This means I can probably help someone you know – a family member, a friend – elsewhere in the country with their purchase or sale. I spend time on the phone with referrals to learn more about their particular needs, budget and timing first. Then I introduce them to a Realtor I know and trust that I feel is qualified to help them reach their goals.

If I don’t know someone personally in the referral’s local area, I’ll find an appropriate agent through my network.

Some individuals may want to talk to a couple of agents before making a decision. As a result I can provide 2 or 3 names so they can have a conversation with each. Then they can decide who is the best fit for them. But very often 1 referral is sufficient.

By the way I have several terrific lenders I know personally if someone you know needs to get pre-approved. I’m happy to share these recommendations with you, or your referral may contact me directly.
