Holiday at the Rancho in Carlsbad 2019

Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park

There are plenty of holiday events in Carlsbad coming your way in late November and in December, with fun for young and old.

December 7th is the annual Holiday at the Rancho in Carlsbad (and that’s a busy day – stay tuned for more happenings on the 7th) from 5 until 8 pm.

Holiday at the Rancho, with a taste of the old west, is held at the beautiful Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park in the Rancho Carrillo area of Carlsbad, off Melrose about a mile south of Palomar Airport Road (6200 Flying LC Lane). If you haven’t been this is a wonderful time of year to explore this beautifully preserved ranch and historic buildings formerly owned by TV and movie celebrity, Leo Carrillo (maybe best known for his role as Pancho in the popular Western TV series, The Cisco Kid).

So what can you expect?

Certainly there will be lots of beautiful decorations and lights on the grounds and on these historic buildings. And there are plenty of holiday themed activities (e.g., cookie decorating, arts and crafts), face painting, gift shopping, and a train ride. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

You don’t want to miss the tree lighting ceremony at 5:45 with Santa by the pool area (they have real sand!!).

Kids of all ages will also enjoy the feature movie on the big outdoor screen, “Elf” (rated PG – who doesn’t enjoy this holiday favorite?) starting at 6 pm.

Tickets for Holiday at the Rancho are only $10.00 per person; children age 3 and under are free. You may purchase your tickets online; please call (760) 602-7519 for more information.
