Heart of the Village Blood Drive Update

What You Should Know About Housing Prices

There’s some great news for Carlsbadians wanting to help the San Diego Blood Bank with their Blood Drive. The need for blood and platelet donations is significant!

I wrote earlier about the 5th Annual Heart of the Village Blood Drive on Saturday, February 12th from 10 am until 3 pm.

Due to overwhelming public interest, the first Bloodmobile appointments filled very quickly. As a result they have added a 2nd bus so more people can donate.

The Heart of the Village Blood Drive takes place at Barrio Glassworks at 3060 Roosevelt Street. This event is sponsored by the Carlsbad Village Association (CVA).

Donations are by appointment only. However, given the first round filled so quickly, you can expect lots of interest for the 2nd bloodmobile. You can reserve a donation appointment at the San Diego Blood Bank website. I just checked and, as of this writing, there are 20 appointments remaining, so don’t delay.

The Valentine’s Pop-up Event, sponsored by the Carlsbad Village Association, should be lots of fun. This is new for 2022.

Per the CVA website artisans include the following.

Handmade greeting cards – local artist Monica Martin.

Homemade chocolate gift boxes – Susie’s Sweet Fudge.

Handcrafted shortbread cookies – Carlsbad Cookie Company.

Spa gift sets and glass creations – Barrio Glassworks.

There will be on-site gift wrapping, and live music, too. Don’t forget Valentine’s Day is the 14th!
