Flower Fields Open March 1 in Carlsbad

The most colorful annual tradition in the area…my opinion…will be opening in a little over 1 week.

The annual Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch will be open to the public beginning March 1 and, as is tradition, will be open until Mother’s Day on May 12th.

The Flower Fields are stunning, whether you opt to pay the admission fee and walk through the field (or take an antique tractor wagon ride ($5 for adults, $3 for kids – 10), OR take in the views from up on Armada Drive above, looking out over the fields to the Carlsbad windmill and panoramic views of the ocean. They aren’t in full bloom right away so my advice would be to wait a little bit. But certainly they are worth enjoying over and over.

A Busy Day at The Flower Fields in Carlsbad

In addition to the gorgeous 50-acre field of Ranunculas (don’t miss the flowers blooming at the south end at Armada Drive at Palomar Airport Road – by Costco – in the shape of the America Flag), there are multiple activities and events to enjoy:

  • Orchid greenhouse plus a beautiful Poinsettia display
  • A varied calendar of things to enjoy including Kids Day, multiple food truck days, musical events, arts and crafts, Girl Scout Day, flower-arranging workshops, the special Mother’s Day Celebration on Closing Day, May 12th , and more!
  • School tours and programs
  • Demonstration garden with ornamental and edible plants

You can purchase tickets on The Flower Fields website. Stop by the website to learn more about all the happenings!
