The popular and FREE summer event, Flicks at the Fountain, is coming soon to Carlsbad Village.
It’s the Memorial Holiday weekend, which means that Summer is almost here. And that also means the return of the popular Flicks at the Fountain. The Flicks at the Fountain outdoor movie series is held on 8 successive Thursday nights during the summer, beginning July 6 and running through August 24.
In case you aren’t aware, Flicks at the Fountain is a free outdoor movie series at the fountain, at the corner of State Street and Grand Avenue, popular among young and not so young and a great way to enjoy a summer evening.

July 6 The Secret Life of Pets
July 13 Beauty and the Beast 2017
July 20 Pete’s Dragon
July 27 Finding Nemo
August 3 Redy
August 10 The Lego Batman Movie
August 17 Free Willy
August 24 Star Wars: The Force Awakens (rated PG-13)
Seating for the Flicks at the Fountain will begin at 6 PM and the movies will start around dusk (8 PM – maybe a little earlier in August as it is getting dark sooner). You are free to bring blankets, chairs and food/snacks to enjoy, or stop by one of your favorite local restaurants and vendors nearby. My choices would be either Prontos Gourmet Market on Jefferson or the Vigilucci’s Gourmet Market on State Street a block away. Or perhaps sweets from C’est la Vie or the Carlsbad Chocolate Bar.
