What a fun way to celebrate Earth Day. The 1st Makers Market of 2023 takes place Saturday April 22 from 9 am until 4 pm.
This special Makers Market is hosted by the Carlsbad Village Association and co-sponsored by Pedego Electric Bikes. Carlsbad Village Makers Markets are now in their 7th year, with several events annually including during the holidays.
The Earth Day Makers Market will take place in the north parking lot at 2938 Roosevelt. Moreover, Pedego Electric Bikes will have their new eco-friendly electric bikes and go carts on display with staff to answer all questions. Pedego Carlsbad offers rentals as well as bikes for purchase.
Attendance is free, and there will be multiple artisans showcasing their creations. Don’t forget to bring your credit cards and/or plenty of cash for shopping!
The Makers Market offers a wide range of self-designed and handcrafted items from local and regional artisans. With Mother’s Day in May, upcoming birthdays, and perhaps weddings, you might have multiple gift-buying needs to meet. Or just buy something for yourself.
Vendors are jury-selected, so you can expect high quality, creative, and unique creations. This event will be special because of Earth Day. And the emphasis is on artisans creating eco-friendly products and following eco-friendly practices.
Vendors create their works in a broad range of media. You may find leatherwork, woodworking, beading, natural jewelry, 3D functional art, re-purposed and vintage materials, fabric and glass creations, candles, graphic design apparel, and more.
You can expect some vendors with recycled and up-cycled products. And to see artisans who engage in sustainable practices and who use no plastic in their packaging, among other earth-friendly practices.
Part of the fun will be talking with the creators, asking questions, and learning about their inspiration.
