The San Diego housing market has remained competitive, with change each month in these communities. Inventory became more limited during the holidays, and there was still plenty of competition despite the time of year.
The data in these market reports are taken from the MLS. While this information was believed to be accurate at the time these reports were compiled, it is not guaranteed.
Being educated about local market conditions (inventory, pricing, days on market) is essential for my business. Understanding these issues means I can help buyers and sellers make informed buying and selling decisions.
These reports are good education for you, whether you are planning to buy or to sell now or not. I find many people are interested in the housing market even if they are not planning to buy or sell right now. Furthermore, understanding housing market conditions will help your decision making when the time comes.
Simply put, local market conditions impact buying and selling because of supply and demand. This affects marketing time, sales prices versus list prices, and of course competition. Over and over we see that real estate truly IS local!! And you can’t always believe what you see in the media!

Last month was a busy time for buyers, sellers and their agents, with changes in average prices, inventory, and sales volume from November. However, while we saw some trends, each community is different!
