CAFE ELYSA, on the Coast Road across from the Carlsbad Inn, is a terrific place for brunch on the weekend, before or after a walk on the beach just a block away. Or before heading out to explore the town and do some shopping.
Most of the seating is outside, with a couple of fire pits to take away the morning chill, so you can enjoy the world going by on foot, bike and by car.
Order your food inside, take your number and have a seat, and they’ll deliver to your table. CAFE ELYSA has a good selection of food that I found to be quite good. My fave is their FRENCH TOAST stuffed with Coconut vanilla custard. WOW. Great breads and pastries, and a variety of egg dishes, too.
