Art in the Village has been a very popular street art fair in Carlsbad Village for 21 years, bringing thousands of attendees annually to enjoy the original art work of dozens of local and regional artists.

You can read more about last year’s Art in the Village here – Art Beach Chair Unveiled in Carlsbad Village August 11, 2019. (that’s me in the chair at Art in the Village last year).

This year’s Art in the Village was initially planned for June 28th then was rescheduled to August 23rd, but due to the pandemic the live event was canceled. So unfortunate but not a surprise.

But the Virtual Art in the Village website is a wonderful alternative to enjoy the artwork of the 75 or so artists who were signed up to participate. It’s a great way to connect with artists whose work you enjoy, stay in touch, visit their social media and websites (if they have the links), and obviously shop online on those sites if available. You could perhaps even connect with artists in their studios if they offer that opportunity.

You can scroll through all the artists, or refine your search and look at the Virtual Art in the Village gallery of artists and works organized by the type of medium – clay/ceramics, drawing, digital art, jewelry, fiber, mixed media, sculpture, wood, painting, photography, glass and metal. No doubt you will see artists you remember from before, or perhaps whose works you already own.

The Virtual Art in the Village is a wonderful site and a beautiful way to continue to offer art work to those who enjoy it from now until the next show in 2021 (we hope, of course).

The Carlsbad 2020 Virtual Art in the Village gallery is now live – it’s well worth a visit, and these artists can use your support!!
