Carlsbad Creative Cultures Arts Festival

Art in Carlsbad

Carlsbad will hold its first Creative Cultures Arts Festival on Saturday May 17th.

The festival will be held at the Carlsbad Library Learning Center at 3368 Eureka Place from 12 noon until 2:00 pm. Furthermore, this Festival is to recognize World Day for Cultural Diversity that is celebrated on May 21 every year and has been since 2002.

The Carlsbad Creative Cultures Art Festival will feature music and dance performances representing several cultures – Egyptian, Persian, Vietnamese, and Azerbaijani.

In addition, the Creative Cultures Arts Festival will offer hands-on arts activities representing diverse cultures from around the world. These include:

  • African quilt making
  • Making bookmarks
  • Stone weaving
  • Decorating Lithuanian blown eggs (Margučiai)
  • Persian woodblock printing
  • Making Glagolitic scripts (Slavic alphabet)

The Festival should be a fun way to celebrate World Day for Cultural Diversity. The full name for this day is World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development. Additionally, you can contact the Cultural Arts Office in Carlsbad at (442) 239-2090 with any questions.
