Carlsbad Christmas Tree Recycling 2022

Carlsbad Community Services

The City of Carlsbad is offering free Christmas Tree Recycling for residents, beginning December 27th and through January 14th.

Residents can also take advantage of the drop-off bins until January 14th. See the list below of the drop-off locations.

To use curbside pickup trees should be placed at the end of your driveway next to your green waste bin. Pick-up will be on your normal trash/recycling day.

If your tree is taller than 6 feet it should be cut in half then placed next to the green waste bin. Waste Management recommends whenever possible cut the tree and place it in the Green Waste recycling bin, top down.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Flocked trees cannot be recycled and must be picked up as regular trash (place in the trash bin)

Don’t forget to remove all decorations, lights, tinsel and tree stands before recycling your tree. Carlsbad converts the trees into mulch for use around San Diego County.

Here are the 5 drop-off locations for residents to use for their tree recycling:

Calavera Hills Community Park – 2997 Glasgow Drive
Stagecoach Community Park – 3420 Camino de los Coches
Poinsettia Community Park – 6600 Hidden Valley Road
Carlsbad Fire Station #1 – 1275 Carlsbad Village Drive

You can also drop off at the main recyling and buy-back center:

Waste Management – 5960 El Camino Real
