Carlsbad Art Wall November 2022

Art in Carlsbad

The 4th mural of 2022 for the Carlsbad Art Wall was painted November 6th and 7th.

Now in its 8th year, the newest mural is by artist CJ Troxell. It certainly gives you something to ponder. What do you think?

Well-known Carlsbad artist, Bryan Snyder, founded the #CarlsbadArtWall in 2015, in cooperation with the owner of Senor Grubby’s Mexican Restaurant in Carlsbad Village.

In addition, Bryan founded the Carlsbad Alley Art Wall, among other art projects in Carlsbad.

The Carlsbad Art Wall is an opportunity to enjoy a variety of temporary public art with 3 or 4 murals a year. Artists are local, regional, and sometimes even international. And it’s fun to watch the artists at work on their creations. Murals are typically painted over a 2-day period, often Saturday and Sunday.

Even if you haven’t heard the official name you’ve probably noticed the changing murals if you live in the area or have visited Carlsbad Village.

The Carlsbad Art Wall is just west of the train tracks, across the street from the Carlsbad Village Faire Shopping Center. As a result it’s easy to spot as you head to the beach.

Carlsbad’s reputation as an arts community continues to expand with abundant public art (link to interactive map). There are multiple art galleries, a performance theater, several arts and crafts fairs, and live music events throughout the year. Thus the Carlsbad Art Wall is a special part of our vibrant arts community!
