Here’s some good news for art lovers! The 24th Annual Art in the Village Fair is back for 2022 on Sunday June 26th.
This popular fine art event showcasing local and regional artists is open from 9 am until 5 pm and is free to attend. Art in the Village takes place along State Street and Grand Avenue.
Art in the Village is sponsored by the Carlsbad Village Association, and there will be both new and returning artists. All artists are juried so you can expect high quality, and artwork is handcrafted and unique. [photo is from a prior art fair in the Village].
Carlsbad is well known for its 1-day art fairs. Whether you are an art lover, or not, strolling the Village streets to enjoy art and music on a Summer Sunday is a cool thing to do. Furthermore, it’s fun to just browse!!
The 2022 Art in the Village features works of art from over 100 local and regional artists. Moreover, the event also offers interactive demonstrations, performance art, and live music. You can preview the attending artists and some works here.
We last enjoyed Art in the Village in 2019, and I expect this year will be similar with an impressive array of artwork. Plan on hand-painted clothing, fine art, contemporary and classical sculpture, ceramics and pottery, jewelry, paintings (watercolors, oils, acrylics, and mixed media), wood working, metal, glass, furniture, and more.
Be sure to bring your credit cards and/or cash so you can have some fun! Who doesn’t enjoy adding new artwork to their collection?
Our late June weather is usually pretty good, and a great time to enjoy being outdoors or at the beach. Carlsbad Village art fairs are always crowded, so expect some parking challenges in town. The good news is our parking is free. But consider your travel time accordingly.
The Coaster commuter rail is close by if you prefer public transportation or are coming from a distance.
If you tire of exploring the art fair, there are plenty of retailers in the downtown area to visit. You’ll find multiple dining options in Carlsbad Village, too, as you may already know. And our beautiful Carlsbad beaches are 2 blocks away for a stroll before or after the fair.
