The current exhibition on display at the city-owned Cannon Art Gallery, Entre Tinta y Lucha: 45 Years of Self-Help Graphics and Art, will be ending on June 9. It’s well worth a visit!
The exhibit, “Between Ink and Struggle…,” is the 45th anniversary celebration of the Self-Help Graphics and Art (SHG) community center located in the East Los Angeles area.
SHG has provided tools, capital, space, and promotion for local and international Latinx and Chicanx artists using innovative and experimental print-making techniques since 1973.
The William D. Cannon Art Gallery has several exhibits every year with an opening reception, hosted by the Carlsbad Friends of the Arts, and Family Open Studios. The Gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am until 5 pm, and on Sundays from 1 until 5 pm.
Cannon Art Gallery is located at the Dove Library Complex in South Carlsbad near the Vons Shopping Center, at 1775 Dove Lane. Call (765) 602-2021 for more information.
