It’s not a Carlsbad event but I thought those who enjoy Brazilian jazz would appreciate hearing about this upcoming concert.
The 1st Brasil Jazz Festa was held at the Encinitas Library back in 2008, followed by 4 or 5 more before relocating to downtown San Diego, taking most recently in the last several years at Dizzy’s in the Mission Valley area.
I’m looking forward to the 11th Annual Brasil Jazz Festa on Sunday March 24th at Dizzy’s in San Diego. I’ve been to most of these events and the concerts are always such a pleasure, with great Brazilian music, talented musicians (regulars plus guests) and small, intimate venues.
This year’s concert will feature 2 regulars – the Danny Green Trio and Allison Adams Tucker’s Bossa Nova Explosion: Tribute to Getz/Gilberto – plus special guest Rebecca Kleinmann, a talented flutist from the Bay area, who will be celebrating her latest release “Intuição Verdadeira.”
Reserved seating in advance is $20, with general admission at the door for $25. Buy your tickets here…I did!
