Have you heard of the Blue Star Museums Program?
The Blue Star Museums Program offers free museum admission to Active Duty Military and up to 5 family members. The military ID card holder can be an active duty service member or other dependent family member with the appropriate ID.
Family members can take advantage of the program even without the military ID holder being present. Blue Star Museums is for walk-in admission only, and not valid for field trips, online orders, concerts, special events, reserved group or guided tours. The benefit cannot be redeemed for cash.
The Blue Star Museums Program is a collaboration among Blue Star Families, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Department of Defense, and over 2000 museums around the US.
The Museum of Making Music in Carlsbad is one museum participating in this program. . You’ll find interactive exhibits, displays, lots of instruments and so much more. As a result this is a gem of a museum especially if you like music and it’s easy to spend a couple of hours visiting
The program operates beginning Armed Forces Day (the 3rd Saturday in May – May 17 in 2025) and runs through Labor Day (September 1, 2025).
