Windmill Food Hall in Carlsbad is Now Open

Carlsbad Windmill Food Hall

Our iconic windmill is turning again in Carlsbad, and the Windmill Food Hall, the first food hall in North San Diego County, is now open.

It’s actually been open since Labor Day weekend, over a year after the original projected date I believe. But no matter – what’s important is this long awaited food hall and entertainment area with 14 places to eat offers abundant opportunities to try all sorts of food in a casual, and fun setting just off the I-5 freeway on Paseo del Norte adjacent to the Carlsbad by the Sea Hotel.

The 12,000 sf Windmill Food Hall and entertainment hub has a huge bar with indoor and outdoor communal seating, multiple and comfy places to sit and relax (a library, an arcade game area, outside, indoors) and a wide range of food styles beginning with breakfast all the way through dinner and beyond – tacos, steak, seafood, stir fry, sliders and salads, Thai, Pho, a bread and cheese place, pizza, chicken and beer, desserts and coffee, poke, and more.

You’re bound to find something you like on one of these 14 menus to enjoy, and there are ample opportunities to come back again and again!

They are still working on the outside patio area by the base of the windmill, and from what I have heard there will be a variety of entertainment and education offered – line dancing, pop-up artisans, arcade games, yoga, and more. No doubt the owner will be trying different things out to see what works with customers!

Windmill Food Hall is at 890 Palomar Airport Road (but you enter off of Paseo del Norte heading north toward the Carlsbad Premium Outlets Mall across from Armstrongs.
