2023 Wavecrest Woodie Meet

Woodie in Encinitas CA

If you have any interest in Woodies, the Wavecrest Woodie Meet in Encinitas may be of interest, especially Saturday the 23rd.

The world’s longest running woodie festival takes place September 21- 24. This is the 44th annual event!

The Wavecrest Woodie Meet kicks off Thursday evening with the last of the Encinitas Classic Car Nights for 2023 from 4:30 – 8:00. The Classic Car Nights (a.k.a. Encinitas Cruise Nights) take place downtown along the Coast Road between D and K Streets.

Friday night is the “Meet and Greet” at 4:30 to 6:30 pm at the host hotel, the Encinitan Hotel and Suites (formerly the Best Western). The hotel is close to Moonlight Beach, just east of the Coast Road.

Saturday is the big Woodie meet. You’ll find a couple hundred Woodies in the parking lot above Moonlight Beach from 8 am until 3 pm. There will be a DJ, Food Trucks and a Raffle, too. This is the event for the public to see! (Photo is of Moonlight Beach.)

Saturday ends with a catered dinner (there are limited tickets) at the Encinitan Hotel. The dinner starts at 5:00 pm followed by an auction and a raffle.

The Wavecrest Woodie Meet is reportedly the largest of its kind in the world. So there will be plenty of car admirers and collectors, with a couple hundred or so beautiful cars. No doubt there will be a big crowd so plan accordingly.

There is a cruise of Woodies up the Coast Road Sunday morning from 8 until 10:30. The cruise begins at Encinitas City Hall on Vulcan.
