The world’s longest running woodie festival, the Wavecrest Woodie Meet, will take place September 16, 17 and 18 in Encinitas. By the way this is the 43rd year!
The Wavecrest Woodie Meet will kick off Thursday evening with Encinitas Cruise Night – the last one for 2022. Look for more information on that event soon.
The Wavecrest Woodie Meet starts Friday night with a Welcome Party at 5 at the Best Western. The host hotel is a short distance from Moonlight Beach. This dinner will be a “No Host Taco Truck.” However, beer, wine, soft drinks and water will be available.
Saturday is the day of the big meet. There will be around 200 Woodies on display in the parking lot above Moonlight Beach from 8 am until 2 pm. Furthermore the day ends with a dinner (there are limited tickets) at the Best Western Hotel. Dinner starts at 5:30 pm and will be followed by an auction.
I understand the Wavecrest Woodie Meet is the largest of its kind in the world. So you will certainly see plenty of car admirers and collectors, along with lots of classic and beautiful cars.
No doubt there will be plenty of surfing music to enjoy, good food at the Concession Stand on the beach and perhaps a food truck or two. There will be plenty of Wavecrest memorabilia (t-shirts, posters) to buy, too, throughout the event.
The Festival ends Sunday morning starting at 8:30 at Encinitas Town Hall at 505 S. Vulcan Avenue with a cruise of woodies up the Coast Road.
