The popular music festival, Fiesta del Sol, is May 21st and 22nd in Solana Beach. This event is sponsored by the Solana Beach Chamber of Commerce
Fiesta del Sol takes place at Fletcher Cove Park, located at 111 S. Sierra Avenue. The Park is just west of the downtown area and the Coast Road/Route 101.
The Festival hours are 9 am to 10 pm on Saturday, and 9 am to 8 pm on Sunday.
San Diego has a number of popular outdoor festivals, and Fiesta del Sol is certainly one of them. Along with a beautiful location by the beach, the Festival offers great live music, lots of food, and plenty of fun. And of course some pretty good crowds.
The good news is that it’s FREE to attend!
So what can you expect?
Fiesta del Sol is 2 days of fun, 20+ foodvendors, live musical entertainment, shopping, and arts and crafts exhibits.
There’s also a kids’ zone with rides, arts and crafts, a bounce house and slide, face painting, and special food.
Why not support the Solana Beach Firefighters by attending the Pancake Breakfast from 7:30 – 10:30 on Sunday.
While we expect the sun will make an appearance, it’s May Gray time. So who knows along the Solana Beach coast. But given the fun this festival provides, who actually cares if the sun shines or not?! But it likely will, at least for part of each day.
In terms of music, there are some excellent performers (16 bands), appearing on stage throughout the festival. There will also be a Battle of the Bands, with April & the Funk Junkies, and The Good Pour.
Fiesta del Sol is free so there’s no excuse to stay away unless you have something better to do. Given the expected crowds you might want to consider taking the Coaster (commuter train) to avoid the parking challenges. The Solana Beach train station is located a few blocks from Fletcher Cove Park, east of the Coast Road.
