Many will be glad to hear the Makers Market Series continues in Carlsbad Village for 2022.
The Carlsbad Makers Market has been a popular event in Carlsbad Village for a while. Indeed, it’s now entering its 6th year. As a result the Makers Market has expanded, with multiple events during the year. Plus there is a special Makers Market Showcase during the holidays.
This popular artisan series continues in 2022 with Makers Markets on the 1st Saturdays – March 5, April 2 and June 4. The events are open from 9 am until 4 pm.
The Makers Market is FREE to attend and offers works from dozens of artisans. It goes without saying you’ll want to bring credit cards or plenty of cash! (photo is from another arts and crafts show in the part)
The Makers Market is designed to be as Covid-safe as possible. The event is outdoors on the campus of St. Michael’s By-the-Sea Episcopal Church located at 2775 Carlsbad Boulevard. Furthermore, the number of booths is limited to reduce exposure. Attendees will have plenty of room for social distancing, and masks should be worn.
Plan on all recommended CDC and County health guidelines and protocols will be enforced for staff, vendors, volunteers and attendees. You may want to bring your own sanitizer.
The Makers Market Crafter Showcase should be a terrific shopping opportunity, with self-designed and handcrafted items from local and regional artisans. Think Mother’s and Father’s Days, birthdays, Easter and more. Given the vendors are jury-selected, you can expect high quality and creativity.
Crafts are all artisan-designed and hand-made, and are not factory-production. All that means plenty of one-of-a-kind items.
As with other arts and crafts events in Carlsbad Village, you can expect works of art in a range of media. Thus leatherwork, beading, jewelry, 3D functional art, re-purposed materials, fabric and glass creations, and graphic design apparel can be expected.
In addition you can also talk with the creators, ask questions, and find out what inspired their creations!
There will be live music, and you’ll find plenty of local eateries close by. I bet you are already aware of great places to eat in our Village.
If by chance you don’t find the right gifts at the Makers Market, or even if you do, don’t worry. There are plenty of retailers in Carlsbad Village just steps away to explore.
If you are an artisan interested in participating in these events, read more and apply online here. However, 2021 participants are not guaranteed a spot in 2022.
