TGIF Concerts in the Parks 2022

The popular TGIF Concerts in the Parks series returns June 24, 2022.

The annual TGIF Concerts in the Parks series starts a few days after the 1st day of summer. Indeed, it’s exciting to have the live concerts again, after being canceled in 2020 and only held virtually in 2021.

TGIF Concerts in the Parks in Carlsbad

There’s no doubt the free TGIF Concerts in the Parks are a highlight of the Carlsbad summertime. Furthermore, this outdoor concert series may be the best summer entertainment in North San Diego County!

How can you miss with live music in one of our beautiful Carlsbad parks on a Friday summer evening. Moreover, they’re FREE!! Thus it doesn’t get too much better!

2022 is the 35th season of Carlsbad’s popular TGIF Concerts in the Parks series. Appropriately, these musical events are presented by the City of Carlsbad’s Cultural Arts Office.

If you aren’t already aware, TGIF concerts take place on 9 consecutive Friday nights in Carlsbad’s 4 largest community parks.

The TGIF Concerts in the Parks are popular with visitors and residents and have been for years. What can you expect? Certainly, a couple thousand people dining al fresco, a sea of blankets and low-back chairs, kids, dancing, and wonderful live music.

The TGIF concerts start at 6 and run until 8 pm or so, with intermission generally around 6:45 or 7 pm. In addition, at intermission they raffle off lots of really cool prizes. I’ve never won but they always sound great!! People will walk around selling tickets during the concerts. Thus, be sure to bring some cash.

Accordingly, funds raised from these raffles support various Carlsbad arts programs.

The TGIF concerts tend to get crowded. As a result, it’s a good idea to arrive early; venues open at 5 pm. That way you can find the best parking and great seats up front. Consequently, keep in mind that unless you are early you can expect to walk a distance. Perhaps I’ll see you there!

There are free shuttles at the parks. And you’ll find signage for the shuttles at the park. Shuttles run from 4:30 until 9 pm.
