I’ve said it before and I will continue to say it (as will probably any other licensed real estate professional)…do not listen to the media to get the true picture of what is going on in the real estate market in 2013.
Oh, you see reports about it being a seller’s market, with bidding wars, among other things, but most reporting has very little to offer in terms of the facts about what IS going on, and reports are often old and outdated. The market has shifted fairly quickly and many are still catching up to the reality.
Licensed real estate professionals know what is going on in their local markets because it’s our profession, and our business to know. Not so for the media – their role is to sell papers, or garner viewers and readers.
