The 2018 Great Kindness Challenge in Carlsbad and All Over

It’s time again for the GREAT KINDNESS CHALLENGE at Hope Elementary School (Calavera Hills, near where I live) and thousands of schools around the country and in other countries.

But being kind is a pretty good idea anytime for us, isn’t it?

The 2018 Great Kindness Challenge starts tomorrow and runs through January 26th.

You may not know but the Great Kindness Challenge actually started here in Carlsbad, thanks to JILL MCMANIGAL who started it all at home with her 2 kids. Her program was brought to 3 schools in Carlsbad back in 2012 and it’s grown dramatically from there. The stats for 2017 say it all – over 10 million students, 91 countries, 15,000 schools, and more than 500 millions acts of kindness.

The Great Kindness Challenge is based on a checklist of 50 different acts of kindness that kids can do during the week, some easier than others…like smiling at 25 people. Hope Elementary here in the Calavera Hills area of Carlsbad was one of the first schools to take on this wonderful challenge.

There is also a family edition of the Great Kindness Challenge. Why not work on this all year??
