Need something fun to do this Sunday, June 4?
The Annual State Beach Classic Surf Contest, a tribute to local professional surfer Banning Capps, takes places at Tamarack Beach, with lots of fun for all.
A portion of the proceeds raised from this surfing event will benefit the Banning Capps Scholarship Fund as well as the Boys and Girls Clubs of Carlsbad. Banning died from a fall at age 25 in 2000.
The heat schedule starts at 8 am, running until about 5:30. There is a heat for every age and surfing level!
