Never Forget 9/11

Today is the 17th anniversary of 9/11, a day I suspect most people will never ever forget.

I bet you recall vividly what you were doing, and where you were, when you first heard the horrific news about the terrorists attacks on our country by al-Qaeda, killing 2996 people including first responders and police, and injuring more than 6000, with others dying from 9/11-related cancer and respiratory illnesses. My daughter has a good friend who is still suffering from issues related to spending time volunteering in NY.

Four planes were hijacked, with 2 crashing into the World Trade Center Towers resulting in their collapse, 1 crashing into the Pentagon in Washington, DC, and the 4th crashing in Shanksville PA after passengers thwarted the hijackers who were flying toward DC.

This is a chalk art memorial I came across on 9/11/11 here in Carlsbad on our concrete “boardwalk.”

NEVER FORGET!!!
