DAY 6 – Le Passage French Bistro

  • If you are a fan of dining à la Française, or even if you haven’t a clue, LE PASSAGE FRENCH BISTRO in downtown Carlsbad Village is a real treat, and one of my FAVORITE Carlsbad restaurants.

One can easily imagine having lunch or dining in a quaint Left Bank cafe in Paris, whether you choose to dine inside, or on their charming rear patio under the trees. Or perhaps sit at one of the 2-3 tables on the sidewalk. Oh, I suppose the wait staff is different, for it seems most of the wait staff in the Parisian cafes are men with long black or white aprons.

But no matter, you will enjoy their French-style menu that changes regularly (think classics like lamb, duck and fish), and a hearty wine list of reds and white, both domestic and imported.

Better yet, stroll next door to their VINTAGE WINE SHOP and select the wine you would like to have while dining.

Desserts, of course, include the classics as well – creme brulee, crepes, chocolate mousse – or, after paying the check, drop on by their neighboring store, the CARLSBAD CHOCOLATE BAR (I can personally testify that their chocolates ARE delectable).
