DAY 35 – Take a Walk on the Oceanside Pier

The OCEANSIDE PIER is the longest wooden pier on the west coast (almost 2000 feet) and I highly recommend a walk on a beautiful day all the way to the end and back.

The views from the OCEANSIDE PIER extend way up into Camp Pendleton and into Orange County on a clear day, and south to La Jolla, and of course the entire Oceanside coastline. It can get rather blustery out on the pier so be prepared if is it not a warm day. Sunset is a great time but of course it;s chiller then. You’ll find a 50’s diner, RUBY’S, at the end of the OCEANSIDE PIER with terrific views in all directions of the ocean and the coastline.

You’ll find lots of people fishing for their own dinner on the way out,  and almost always can watch a bunch of surfers. At the land-end, 333 Pacific is a great place to unwind with drinks or dinner (more on that later).

The OCEANSIDE PIER is located at the end of Mission. There is plenty of parking in the adjacent lots and on the street although expect it to be a bit of a challenge in the summer when everyone is at the beach.
