DAY 19 – Play Tourist at the Carlsbad Visitor Center in Carlsbad Village

  • Sometimes it’s fun to play tourist in the area where you live.

So often we don’t get out and explore the many things there are to do in the community we live in…that was, in part, the inspiration for my 365 Things to Do in Carlsbad series.

I still consider myself somewhat of a newbie here in Carlsbad, having lived here for less than 6 years. And I’m having fun learning more about all there is to see and do.

The CARLSBAD VISITORS CENTER at the old train depot in the heart of Carlsbad Village is one such place.

Not only is there a ton of information (dozens of flyers and brochures) about things to do and see in Carlsbad at the CARLSBAD VISITORS CENTER, but the fact that it is an OLD TRAIN DEPOT is pretty cool.

You can see some neat old photos of the depot in action many years ago and the history lingers in this historic Carlsbad building. It’s just west of State Street (on the RR tracks) on the north side of Carlsbad Village Drive.
